DIY COLD & FLU CARE KIT: GET READY FOR COLD AND FLU SEASON

With cold season upon us, sick kids are bound to start happening, so we have put together a DIY Sick Day Survival Kit for the family. It’s easy to assemble and will also keep you prepared the next time one of the kids gets the cold or flu.

Here are some of my suggestions to include in your own kit:

1Food Items. For a sore throat and cold keep, cough drops and peppermint mints. Kids can quickly become dehydrated so also have a water or sports drink on hand. Also, Chicken noodle soup or any vegetable soup does wonder.

2. Special Items. It is easy to be bored when in bed. Keep a special movie, blanket, book, couple coloring books, activity books, and a box of crayons and other items for use.

3. An Ear Thermometer.

4Various medications like pain & fever reducer, cough syrup, and Mucinex

5. Individual packages of Kleenex, hand sanitizer and a bottle of disinfectant spray to help minimize the spread of germs.

Once you pull your items together, place them in a box in your closet, where they will be easily accessible if you need them. Our hope is that you won’t need to use it, but if you do, you will be better prepared.
